Homemade Pizza

I don’t think that there is anyone who doesn’t like pizza and even though there are a lot of good places to buy pizza from, you have to know how to make your own! As a vegetarian in my town, I don’t have a lot of options other than regular ones so I do prefer to make my own from time to time so I can add all the veggies that I can find.
And why not to do it by yourself when it’s just so easy?
INGREDIENTS:
For the crust:

  • 2 cups of self-rising flour
  • one pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoons of dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil
  • 1 cup of water

Then, it’s up to you! I do like to make mine with tomato sauce, cheese, olives, sweet corn, bell pepper and onion;

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Mix all the dry ingredients together in a larger bowl, put the sunflower oil in then add the cup of water and mix it with your hands;
  • From now on, is just a game of mixing – adding more flower until you form a dough that is not sticky anymore (add the flower little by little);
  • When your dough is formed, cover your bowl with a clean cloth and place it in a warm room and let it sit for about 2 hours or until it grows a lot;
  • On a clean surface, spread some flower, get the dough out from the bowl and roll it into the desire shape (you can cut the dough if you don’t want to make a bigger pizza and store the rest in the fridge covered in a plastic foil);
  • I didn’t have a special pizza pan so I used a regular one on which I sprayed some olive oil so the pizza will not stick to it when it’s cooking;
  • After your pizza dough is ready and spread in your pan proceed to put whatever you like on top;
  • I’ve baked mine in the oven for about 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius (I believe – I have a special function on my oven especially for pizza and sets its one temperature so I do not know exactly) but you can start with this and then add more minutes if your dough it’s not cooked yet;
  • Quick tip 1: add the tomato sauce first, scrape some cheese, add your other toppings, the scrape some more cheese on top;
  • Quick tip 2: if you want to add raw meat on your pizza or other things that takes a bit more time to cook, I suggest to cook them for a little before adding them as a topping;
