Well, it’s been a while, and what better way to start writing again than starting with a plan for the new year?
A lot of things have changed since I last sat down to write a post for my blog – I am now a dentist, I am building a house and, as always, still struggling with keeping a healthy lifestyle overall.
Going into 2024 and needing to be more organized with my everyday chores and money I thought it was time to change a few things from my day-to-day routine.
1. Setting up my calendar and planner for 2024
The first thing I did was set up my calendar for the new year, and this included:
- Changed the colors for my categories which are: personal, blog, work, holidays, birthdays, chores, bills/payments
- Writing every birthday, important dates, and all my subscriptions;
- Writing every holiday and possible time off;
For the planner part, I used the one from The Good Monday Paper along with Goodnotes (more about digital planning here), in which I also wrote all the important dates, birthdays, etc (matched it with my calendar).
I will use the digital planner for writing everything I do at the dental practice as well as for daily tasks.
2. Buying all the supplements I want to take next year.
- Vitamin D (I have a big deficiency);
- Omega 3;
- Magnesium;
- Collagen;
- Greens (fibers as I do not eat enough);
3. Planning the medical controls I want to make this year.
- Blood investigations;
- Gynecology;
- Thyroid.
4. Making a savings plan – the most important one.
Since having a salary I found it hard to keep my money and stop spending on unnecessary things, like lots of makeup, skincare products that I never use, or clothes that I never wear. So this year, I am buying a cash binder so I can save, in cash, for my new house, an emergency fund, health, holiday, and gifts (for now).
I don’t know about you but I feel like every time I put my salary on my card I end up placing a lot of online orders and also buying without realizing how much I spend. The good thing is that my digital planner also has a tracker for my expenses.
5. Sorting out some good eating habits for 2024
If you’ve been here for a while, you would know that all my life I struggled with losing weight and staying healthy. A friend introduced me to Glucose Goddess so I’ve bought her book and started reading them. Great information and stories about eating habits that, for once, I think I can finally maintain. I just got to take notes after reading the books, so in the New Year, I want to focus more on maintaining my glucose levels low, lose some weight, and start feeling healthy again.
I’ve read that this new year, will be a year full of power and opportunities so if you are optimistic, things will go 2x better for you, but if you will always doubt yourself and say that life is hard, it will be 2x harder, so choose the right mindest as it will stick to you throughout 2024.

Such a great list for preparations for 2024. Financial planning with a savings plan is also something I will be doing.
