INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated white sugar;
- 1/2 cup dark-brown sugar;
- 6 large eggs;
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder;
- 1 and 1/4 cup of unsalted butter;
- 226 grams of good-quality semisweet/dark chocolate;
- 2 teaspoon of vanilla extract;
- 2 teaspoon of salt;
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C. If you are using an electric oven you would want to put it on this setting;
- Line a metal pan with parchment paper then grease it with soften butter;
- Put water in a bigger saucepan then place another saucepan on top. Put the butter in the top saucepan and melt it using the bain-marie technique (this is how the saucepans should look);
- When the butter is melted, put the chopped chocolate on top along with the unsweetened cocoa powder and stir until everything is melted and combined then put aside;
- Combined the white sugar, the brown sugar, vanilla extract, salt and the eggs in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on high speed until light and fully. This should take about 10 minutes or so;
- Pour the chocolate mixture on top and continue mixing until everything is combined;
- Now sift the flour gently into the mixture and gently fold everything with a rubber or wooden spatula. Do not use the mixer as you don’t want all the air in the mixture be gone;
- Pour the batter into the baking pan then place it in the oven for 20 minutes;
- Without turning the oven off, take out the baking pan and slightly drop the pan on a flat surface until the brownies deflate;
- Put the pan back in the oven then bake for another 15-20 minutes. Cook until the edges of the brownie look cooked but if you insert a wooden skewer into the center it should come out fudgy;

Mmmm these look good! I’ve only made brownies once and they were so-so, and I’d definitely want to try again. Unfortunately flour seems to be the new loo roll in our supermarkets and I’ve forgotten what a pack of flour even looks like on a shelf now! I’ll add it to my grocery list though and keep an eye out for it. When you list the ingredients in ‘cup’ sizes, how much is a cup? Are you using that as 250ml? I never know what recipes mean by a ‘cup’ (have you seen the size of my cups?! We all have differently-sized cups 😂).
Caz xx
Well you have a point there with the cup I always assume people have the 250 ml ones 😂 So yes, I have a 250ml cup. I’ll keep that in mind for my next recipes and start to actually writing the quantities haha.
Also, flour here is also somehow hard to find but my mom made sure to buy a few before this whole crazy thing happened😂
I’m glad I asked. Turns out I have giant cups 😂
Bookmarked this and will print it out to use – thank you!
Your mom is smart. Bet she’s glad she had those already in the cupboard. Stay safe, all of you xx
Great! I really hope you will like it as much as I did.
Stay safe, and have a great day or night haha! xx
