8 tips to poop better!

Pooping should not be a taboo subject. A lot of people don’t go to the bathroom they way they are supposed to and this can cause a lot of health problems. From feeling like your stomach is going to explode to acne on your face/body all of that can be thanks to a poor digestion.

  1. The well known tip: drink more water. I’ve found this to be very accurate as I’ve tried this myself. In the summer time I tend to drink a whole more water and as a result to that I spend more time on the toilet. If you don’t like drinking plain water try to add some lemon, cucumber or strawberries for something extra;
  2. Eat fruits: even though I am a vegetarian I’m not eating a lot of fruits but I try to reach for an apple (which is high in fibers) or a banana at least once a day to help me go to the bathroom;
  3. Eat more nuts, dates and figs as they are great for a healthy digestion;
  4. Try to cut out meat and diary consumption. Since I turned vegetarian I go to the bathroom almost every day. I still eat cheese and eggs but I try to limit them. Just try to have some meatless days and you will see the results immediately;
  5. Drink a large glass of warm water right after you’ve waken up as it wakens up your body and helps you go to the bathroom;
  6. Drinking coffee is not such a healthy habit but it helped me a lot of times to have a cup of extra hot coffee in the morning before eating anything;
  7. Try some exercises. There is a lot you can do to get moving. There are some great yoga videos specially made for a healthy digestion and if you are not a fan of yoga you can go for a walk, do some indoor exercises or climb the stairs a few times;
  8. If you are constipated try to avoid rice or potatoes as they are known to slow down the intestinal transit and have a soup instead. I have a great recipe for soup here on my blog;
