During this hard time it might be difficult to find the right balance in your life especially when you have to stay indoors. To help you put any bad thought aside, I have decided to put together a post about some simple thing you can do to improve your days.
PIN ME FOR LATER

1. TAKE A BATH WITH SOAK AND ESSENTIAL OILS
You can do this anytime during the day especially now when you are not supposed to leave your house. All you have to do is to fill your bath enough for you to sit comfortable in. After you turn the water off, drop in some bath soak and 5 drops of lemon, lavender, rosemary or chamomile essential oils. Make sure you add the oils after the water stop running because the running water will separate the essential oils and bake your whole bathroom smell nice instead.
After you are done preparing your bath, put on some slow music, light a candle an hop in.
2. MEDITATE
Don’t worry if you are not good at this at first. I just starting doing it too and I find it a bit difficult to stop my thoughts coming in my head one after another. But I will get there and you will too! I recently started meditating with this frequency . If you find that 11 minutes are to long for you at the beginning you can easily just keep still for 5 minutes.
If you feel like you need a little bit of guidance when it comes to meditating I recommend downloading the app named Headspace. You get a free trial of a few sessions and you’ll unfortunately have to pay later for it, but it’s great just to get an idea of what is going on.
3. WORKOUT
If you are not an athletic person I know that this might seem like the last thing you would want to do. Trust me, working out has proven to be a great way to relieve stress. You don’t have to spend 1 hour doing it. Anything between 15-30 minutes should be enough too. There are plenty of free workouts on YouTube but one of my favorites are the ones from Lucy or Chloe.
4. JOURNAL
You don’t have to have a specific notebook for this one you can only take a piece of paper and start writing your thoughts. It doesn’t have to look good and it can be as messy as you want. Just let’s your thoughts flow and unwind.
5. DO A QUICK PAMPERING ROUTINE
Get into your comfy robe and get to “work”. Put on your favorite face mask, whiten you teeth, put some oil in your hair, moisture your body or do your nails. These simple things can easily improve your mood and also your skin.
6. READ
Rory Gilmore said in her graduation speech “I live in two worlds. One is a world of books […] My second one is populated with characters slightly less eccentric” and I felt this phrase way to much. Reading books can carry you in different times and situations so grab a book and let yourself be absorbed of it. If you are a romantic I recommend reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and you will not be disappointed.
7. WATCH A TV SHOW OR A MOVIE
As I was talking above of Rory Gilmore I strongly recommend watching Gilmore Girls. They have a beautiful life story and you will not get bored.
If you are more of a movie person, that’s totally fine! Just make sure to have a big bowl of popcorn and a glass of wine around you so you can get even more relaxed.
8. COOK
This might just be me, but I always felt that cooking made me relax a lot! You can start with something really small or just make something for a week, it doesn’t really matter. You can get a lot of ideas from Pinterest or you just can take a look at my past recipes.
9. TALK TO YOUR LOVED ONES
Another great ways to relieve stress during this time is to talk to your loved one and to make sure they are ok. Check in every day so you can stay informed with their every day situation.
You can find more activities ideas on my latest post here or on Ioana’s blog here and if you want to stay productive check Shea’s great post here.
