Ok, so for the past few months I’ve been spending money and switching bullet journals like crazy. Why? you might ask. The answer is that I don’t have any idea. I wasn’t fully happy with my A5 Leuchtturm due to it’s weight so I switched to an A5 Moleskine and then to an A6 Leuchtturm. So many changes and not a single result.

After watching Lucy Fink IGTV video I have realized that I might not be a bullet journal girl. I don’t take it with me to university, I don’t check it often enough and there are days when I completely forget about it. Sure, I really like to spend my days drawing calendars and nice spreads but what’s the point if I am not using them.
I also realize that even when I am at home with my bullet journal on my desk, I still reach for my phone when I need to set a reminder or write something in my calendar. I have my phone with me 90% of the time so it’s way easier for me to get a reminder from it than to open my bullet journal multiple times a day.
So here’s what I am planning to do next:
- I still have a wall calendar which I have used before to write major events in like exams or tests so I will continue to do that.
- Continue to write events in my Google Calendar and reminders on the iPhone reminders app.
- I made a big monthly calendar on an A4 paper in which I noted my classes and tests so I can plan in advance which topics I am going to study in a certain day.
If you find yourself in the same situation as I am make sure you take your time to understand that bullet journaling might not be for you. There is no shame in that and there are plenty of others ways to stay organized and on top of things.
I am not a bullet journal girl anymore and honestly, I feel so relieved.
