We all know that the first decade of your life is a very important and formative time for you, the same goes for the twenties. It is the time when you are able to make decisions that will shape your future. Now, as you enter into your third decade of life, it is time to start making those same important decisions. The most crucial decision that you need to make is whether or not to retire early or late in life.
The decision about when to retire depends on a few factors such as how much money you have saved and how much debt you have accumulated. Your 30’s are young but this is the decade that tends to have the most impact, such as your lifestyle habits, career, financial health, physical health, and so much more. So these are some handy tips to know what to prepare for in your thirties.
Take a look at your lifestyle
The roaring twenties is basically known for pushing your body to incredible lengths such as eating junk food every day, drinking until 2 am, and then still managing to go to class or work the next day. That doesn’t really happen once you’re thirty. You’re going to find yourself getting sleepier, tired, sorer, and less food agreeing with you.
It’s just a part of life and there isn’t anything scary about it. But, it is important to evaluate your lifestyle, what can be improved so you can have a healthy, happy long life? While there is plenty of life hacks out there, the biggest one is getting enough sleep, eating healthy, and staying active.
Begin thinking about your future
This is something that should have technically been done in your twenties, but it’s truly better late than never. So what exactly are you wanting from life? Do you know when you want to retire? Do you have a retirement plan already put into place? What about death? It’s dark to think about but do you have a will or any plans such as looking into Cremation Urns from Memorials.com? Just because you’re older doesn’t necessarily mean you’re one step closer to death, and that’s not a way to think about it either. But it is important to be realistic with yourself and figure out how you plan to manage this.
Invest in yourself
Don’t be afraid to invest in yourself, especially if you think this will help you out in the long run. For instance, if you’re wanting to improve your health, you should try and get a blood test as you may never know if you have a vitamin deficiency. If you’re wanting to age gracefully then maybe jump-start your skincare journey so you’ll have good skin. But this can extend to other forms as well. As you get older, you’re going to experience more pain, such as back pain. If you’re often prone to having bad posture then maybe invest in an ergonomic chair or even a back brace to help correct your posture. Just be open to investing in yourself as the choices you make in your thirties can last a lifetime.
