How to stay organized | Back to school 2018

This year I promise I will study ahead, I will plan every day and I will read my stuffs before any lectures! (things that never happen) Sounds familiar? This is me before every school year and I bet you find yourself in this situation too. If that’s the case, here are some tips on how to stay organized and ahead of things during this school year.

One thing I’ve been trying to do and it’s really a good idea is using a bullet journal or just any regular planner. It does not have to have a perfect spread like the ones we all see on Instagram, it just have to be quick and useful. Write down the dates when your semester starts and end, throw in a quick calendar then mark up the dates when you have exams, lectures and tests. I will be getting some ideas from this video here for my new journal and if you want to start with one too make sure to check out her video.

Another useful thing is to get a small basket and put it under your desk or on any visible shelf. Use it to store every day things like your headphones, keys, umbrella, college/uni id or any other things that you always need to have with you. This way, you won’t find yourself in the situation where you’ll be running late because you had to search something.

Use binders. I only started using them last year and I swear they are a life saver. I’ve started with one and filled it up with dividers so every time I had some printed lectures I will put them in my binder under the designated divider. This way, you don’t have to spend a lot of time searching for some papers and you can see exactly what you’ve printed or what materials do you need.

Use the days with less classes to do some work ahead. I know that a lot of schools let the students know with a lot of time ahead what papers or projects they need to prepare, so instead of staying up late the day before your due date, start working ahead in the weekdays when you are more free. This way, you can enjoy your free time in the weekend and you will not have to worry about anything.

Make lists. I’ve actually got this idea from Holly’s YouTube channel and I’ve tried it myself a couple of times.  It’s great for when you have a busy week and if you’re not a bullet journal kind of girl, this can help you stay on top of things.

Write all you have to do on your calendar. I like to use Google Calendar on my phone instead of the Apple one (sorry apple) and I fill it up with basically everything. My university schedule for that day, any tasks I have to complete or any event I have to attend. That way, I see exactly when I’m free and I don’t stress over how much time I have to do certain things.

I started being organized when I was in college and to be honest it worked. Some of my tips are using color coded pens for terminologies, I also use binders for my lecture and other exams, I always keep a notebook for all my classes to note down what homework I need to do for that day. Great and helpful tips you have here ♥️
