As I am on summer break I decided to purchase some books and “feed” my brain with some good information. I’ve always loved a book that you can learn something from and these ones were everything that I’ve needed. They teach you how to become better at what you do, how to have faith in yourself, how to try to get over something bad in your life and even how to start living healthier!
I really hope you get the chance to read them and let me know if you have any good suggestions.
THE POWER OF HABIT
At its core, The Power of Habit contains an exhilarating argument: The key to exercising regularly, losing weight, raising exceptional children, becoming more productive, building revolutionary companies and social movements, and achieving success is understanding how habits work.
THE VOICE OF KNOWLEDGE
In The Voice of Knowledge, Miguel Ruiz reminds us of a profound and simple truth: The only way to end our emotional suffering and restore our joy in living is to stop believing in lies — mainly about ourselves. Based on ancient Toltec wisdom, this breakthrough book shows us how to recover our faith in the truth and return to our own common sense.
OPTION B: FACING ADVERSITY, BUILDING RESILIENCE, AND FINDING JOY
Resilience comes from deep within us and from support outside us. Even after the most devastating events, it is possible to grow by finding deeper meaning and gaining greater appreciation in our lives. Option B illuminates how to help others in crisis, develop compassion for ourselves, raise strong children, and create resilient families, communities, and workplaces.
HOW NOT TO DIE
The simple truth is that most doctors are good at treating acute illnesses but bad at preventing chronic disease. The 15 leading causes of death claim the lives of 1.6 million Americans annually. This doesn’t have to be the case. By following Dr. Greger’s advice, all of it backed up by peer-reviewed scientific evidence, you will learn which foods to eat and which lifestyle changes to make to live longer.
